We don’t just serve up one popular type of yoga and say it’s the best.
We love the wide variety of different styles and traditions of yoga that are out there, and believe they all have different value to diversity of clients we serve. From deeply relaxing and restorative practices, to intense and athletic vinyasa flows, we offer LOTS, and always aim to match you with the right classes. Read here for more detail about the various traditions we blend into our classes.

We take the mystery out of yoga - no woo-woo or BS!
We have an accessible and plainspeak approach to yoga, and prefer to teach it simply and clearly - to demystify it, if you will. We translate traditions into modern western terms and sciences, and enjoy sharing practical mental tools with you that can have a profound impact -- but in a way that still leaves it to you to fill in your spiritual values or emotional meanings.

Our approach to Yoga is accessible and down to earth.

While we love the awesome deep traditions of yoga, and share these in our intermediate and advanced classes…but we also love demystifying it, so we start beginners with the basics, taught in plainspeak, and always try to explain new concepts each time we introduce them. We don’t believe you should feel like the only person in the room who doesn’t understand some mysterious instructions taught in a different language! And we don’t believe you should try to learn just by guessing and trying to follow those around you without truly understanding what and why we are trying to practice.

If you already know everything there is to know about yoga and just want to “flow” without interruption, you might only like our most advanced classes. If you are truly interested in discovering new layers of depth, understanding, and embodiment in your practice, we have much to share with you.

We are not cliquey or cultish, and we love you just the way you are!
We have a diverse yoga community - we are relaxed and welcoming and attract participants from all walks of life, all beliefs, and all personalities. We are known for teaching yoga classes that are welcoming and accessible to stiff folks and those just beginning their fitness or yoga adventures. You do not have to look like a bendy yoga model to feel comfortable joining us! Click at right to learn more.

We’re body experts and we really know what we are doing!
Our instructors care deeply about caring for your body, and are trained to avoid many of the common mistakes that less-educated (and younger, able-bodied teachers) often make earlier in their teaching careers. We read bodies and will never just say “listen to your body” as a pat answer when you ask us something specific about your body. We specialize in not only working with people with injury...we specialize in spotting injury before it happens, and can give you tools to avoid them.

We think of the whole world as your “Yoga Class,” and encourage what we call “Applied Yoga”
— simple, practical, little elements of yoga that you can remember and take with you into the busy-ness of your daily life. Whether it is a posture balancing or tension-releasing stretch you can do in your chair at work…a deep breath that you can use to ground and refocus when feeling overwhelmed…or a simple stretch to reinvigorate yourself in the middle of the afternoon slump…we encourage you to take with you what you learn “on the mat” and use to hone your superhero skills in your daily life!

Bring on the babies!
We specialize in pre- and post-natal practices, and have a yoga-based program for preparing to birth, as well as a post-natal recovery process. We welcome babies into our classes, and have Mommy & Me Yoga most of the year!
